In this 2023 version of the Requiem Mass, an enigmatic return to life occurs, the piano is transformed into a coffin and familiar instruments resound in unexpected ways. Seemingly real actions turn out to be illusions. Appearances are deceptive and nothing is what it seems.

Sound plays the role of décor through the use of soundscapes, mash-ups and sound effects. Using techniques such as re-enactment, lip-synching and the mixing of live and pre-recorded sounds, illusions are created and shattered, constantly challenging the audience's expectations.

The show draws its inspiration from real and fictional elements of cinema, 60s TV series and Catholic rituals, oscillating freely between sacred and profane.

Lux Æterna won the 2nd prize at the Concours Nicati 2023 in the category Open Space.
