Andrea Zamengo (*1996) is an Italian percussionist, performer and composer based in Bern, Switzerland.
He completed his percussion Bachelor’s Degree at the “Conservatorio di Musica C. Pollini” with M° Massimo Pastore and is currently studying in the Master Composition / Creative Practice at the “Hochschule der Künste Bern” with Simon Steen-Andersen and Angela Koerfer Burger.
Coming from a music classical background, he is now engaging in multiple disciplines, blending various art forms and approaches to create unique and innovative works.
By merging music with other artistic disciplines such as theatre, performance art, film and technology, he seeks to break away from conventional genres and explores new possibilities for artistic expression.
He is a founding member of the “Akkademia della Creazione Libera”, an interdisciplinary collective of artists, musicians and philosophers. This collaboration creates installations, exhibitions and performances with a strong site-specific approach.
He won the price l’Heure bleu Festival 2020 and the open call Amman-Falb Stipendium.
He was supported by the Fondazione Giorgio Cini Venezia (2019), Fondation Nicati-de Luze (2021-2022) and by the WaliDad Stiftung (2022-2023).
